Majestic African elephants, depicted in black etching, follow each other around the warm, yellow background of African bushveld on this spherical ostrich eggshell lamp. The ostrich eggshell lamps are made by hand and each elephant is carefully carved into the shell by South African artisans. The contrast of colours makes these lamps particularly striking. Each is set on a freestanding metal base. Certificates of authenticity supplied on request.

Metal Lamp stands, available in matt black or white, are 180mm high.

Made by Mark

Mark is a designer from Dysselsdorp in the Western Cape. For 16 years Mark has been creating inspiring designs and carving them into ostrich egg shells. Taught by George Malgas, Mark has mastered the skill of using dentistry tools to delicately drill the beautiful imagery into the shells. He finds joy in seeing the end result of his work and the satisfaction from happy customers.
