Two of the quirky and very feared African rhinoceros are featured on this beautifully painted ostrich eggshell. With one appearing to almost step out of the African savannah setting and into the room, this piece is evocative with details carefully captured. The rhinos are featured in their natural landscape against a rich red hue and the egg is banded at top and bottom with detailed motifs and San-like inscriptions. On the back of the egg is an exceptionally detailed map of the Africa.
